KUNMING, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- A batch of anti-pandemic medical supplies departed from the city of Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, on Friday morning, heading for Laos.
Xiong Wei with Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of Alibaba Group, said the new route allows low-cost small commodities like mobile phone cases and toilet covers to be shipped via charter flights, thus providing a new export channel for small and medium-sized businesses.
Regarding Washington's restrictions on Chinese technology companies, the experts agreed that the measures will only isolate Americans from progress in different fields, including 5G technology in telecommunications, in which Chinese companies are at the fore.
"We will always remember and cherish this friendship of shared adversity, and hope the medical supplies can effectively help Laos' pandemic prevention and control work," Hu added.
Li said in his congratulatory message that China and Sri Lanka enjoy traditional friendship, and recent years have seen their strategic partnership developing vigorously, which features sincere mutual help and time-hornored friendship, and their practical cooperation in various fields constantly broadening and deepening.
With COVID-19 still raging across the world, China is prepared to have mutually beneficial cooperation with the United States on epidemic control and economic recovery, learn from each other and share experience on containing COVID-19, and join together with the United States the global response and multilateral cooperation in fighting COVID-19, he said.
Noting that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Sri Lanka, Li said that China is willing to consolidate its traditional friendship with Sri Lanka, deepen mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation, and promote faster development of China-Sri Lanka relations to better benefit the two countries and peoples. "It's not fair to make such allegations without giving any evidence and to accuse China of not giving American companies a level playing field while at the same time they themselves are denying Chinese companies such a level playing field. This is extremely unfair," he said.
